Flues:A notable feature of this type of stove, as compared to an ordinary fireplace which most are familiar with, is the long looping flues inside. These flues put all the heated gases below the ceiling line of the home where the heat can be adsorbed into the brick before going out of the chimney. This can be proved by touching the damper, which slides in and out to control the exit of burned gasses. Even during the hottest part of the burn this metal damper remains only warm to the touch, showing that all the heat has been adsorbed into the long brick flues before passing the point of the damper and going out the chimney.
