As we were nearing the end of our Hike we came across this really cool looking lizard just off of the trail. He hung around long enough for me to get a few good pics. I was surprised that he let me get so close to him.

This is a picture that sort of illustrates how densely covered the trail was to the Crash site. The photo is a little underexposed but it was actually very shady over much of the trail because of the dense foliage that has grown recently as a result of so much moisture this past year. It was beautiful!

We ended up camping about 3.75 miles into the 4.5 mile hike. The area was so steep that we had to actually terrace off a few spots to put our tents. And as you can see from this picture, it is a very densely vegetated are. In the picture are Brother Bushman, Standifird, & the two Norton Boys (Joshua & Jermaine)

This was at about 1 mile into the hike. From the sunlight you can tell that the sun was setting behind me as I took this picture. I love the way the light looks at this time of day.

I took a lot of pictures on this hike of some of the small little things I noticed along the way. I love to pause occasionally and just look around and see what I might be overlooking. When I do that I am always able to see some pretty interesting things and I love to capture them with the camera. This is one example of one of those small beautiful things.

It's sort of strange how there are random pieces of debris around the crash site just quietly sitting in with the beautiful vegetation.

These two little shrooms look pretty large in this picture but they were actually probably only about 2 inches in diameter. Again, it's great to notice the small things and see the incredible beauty they hold. These were growing just a few feet away from the plane wreckage.

Here are a few of the Young Men taking their first break at an area that overlooks Albuquerque. In the picture you can see the uniquely colored sunlight that comes only from a setting sun. This same sunlight lights up the Sandia mountains and turns them red. Thus the name "Sandia Mountains" or Watermelon mountains.

Just before we started getting into the thick forest we took a break at this location and were able to look back on the setting sun as it overlooks The City.

Believe it or not this picture was not taken at night but in the morning. Because of the thick forestation much of the trail is shaded a great deal.
